Comics for Grades (originally Comics for A’s) began in 2000 when Nick Durajlija asked his dad Walter if he could have some comics if he did well in school. Walter, who owns Big B Comics, realized that comics could be used as a tool to encourage not just his son but all kids to try their best at school. We haven’t stopped giving free comics to kids since.
Here’s what you need to know:
- After you get your report card, come to a participating comic book shop and we will give you one FREE comic for every subject in which you have earned an A, A-, or A+. For June reports we offer an additional bonus: get a free comic for every subject in which you have improved a grade
- We honor all report cards that show marks for the term that has just ended
- Any school board and any educational institution will work
- “Free comics are selected from our bargain bins, which are normally $1.99 each. We will have something for everybody!
That’s it. No catch. No Gimmick.
If you have excelled in school this year, we want to reward you!
When you come in, just show one of our staff your report card. We will tell you how many you qualify for and where to go.
Comics for Grades begins the moment kids started getting their report cards. Don’t miss out on this fantastic opportunity to start or continue your very own comic book collection.
